Inline SVG, currentColor
Render as <svg><use href="#i-name"/></svg> so the glyph inherits text colour from any Atlas --fg-* or accent token.

Fixed sizes per surface
14px in chrome (buttons, chips, table cells), 16px in nav rows, 20–24px reserved for hero and empty states only.

Pair with a label
Always carry a text label unless the icon is a global pictogram. The rare label-free exceptions are i-search, i-settings, i-more-vertical.

Accent only for the primary action
Tint with var(--at-flush-700) only when the icon represents the single primary action on the surface. Everywhere else inherit --fg-2 or --fg-3.

No emoji, no unicode glyphs
If a needed glyph isn't here, draw a new symbol matching the 24×24 grid with 1.5px stroke and round caps, then add it to assets/icons.svg.
